Laongo Sculpture Symposium, Burkina Faso

On my recent trip to Africa, I went to a country in western Africa called Burkina Faso. During my time there, I visited Laongo Sculpture Symposium, which is about an hour by car from the capital city of Ouagadougou  The sculpture garden was initiated in 1989 and sculptors from all around the world have come to carve sculptors out of granite in the open countryside.

Since  I went in December, the best time of day to visit the sculpture garden would be late in the afternoon. The sun is best at this time to take photos and also since there is little shade in the garden, it is much cooler than in the middle of the day. It is recommended to bring bottles of water, since there are no places to buy refreshments at the park. There is a french speaking tour guide available for a minimal fee.
